Princeton Journeys in πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ͺ!

Today we explored the Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo. In 1536, Manco Inca and his band of rebels defeated Pizarro’s soldiers here in one of the few battles lost by the Spanish.

Next we had a lovely lunch at Casa Hacienda Orihuela, a family-owned estate with an expansive collection of antiques.

The day concluded with a walk through the enigmatic Moray archaeological complex. Surrounded by breathtaking vistas of the Andes, this site in the Sacred Valley has been captivating researchers and travelers for decades. Luckily, our Study Leader and Curator of Ancient American Art at the MET, Joanne Pillsbury S72, helped us decode some of the mystery.

Wish you were here Princeton Alumni!
