This is a spot that will always hold a different emotion for me. This is the water hole where I picked up a nasty case of Leptospirosis nearly 8 years ago. All my fault. Heavy rains and dehydration played major roles. I survived it - after family was informed I had a 30% chance of survival during my 2 week ICU stint at Queen's in Honolulu. Always treat your water and always wait a minimum of 30 minutes for the treatment to kill the bacteria. Lepto is no joke in Hawai'i. #lepto #nasty #pigs #dirtywater #hiking
