Bucket List vaca by Rach

Why reach out to me to plan your travel? Because, I get it. I truly sell and tell travel like it is, unfiltered. No surprises. No guessing. No wondering. Unfiltered. That’s just me... it’s always been my style - tell it like it is. I only work with family and friends. If you are referring me to someone, you are on the hook to warn them that I am totally obsessed with the details of their trip and will plan it as if I am in their suitcase going with them- lol. For real, I only take on the trips I can know I can deliver on. If I can’t take a trip on- I will refer you to amazing Agents I work with. Sounds crazy, I know- but I am a travel addict and I have to try and travel this globe too! I will ask ya for pics and for you to post your best memory on my page and I will make sure that you have a local feel wherever you arrive... planning your trip makes me so happy- but if you are not used to me the way my fam and friends are - you are in for an experience- so just know that at that start!

Truthfully- how I ended up in this amazing world of Travel seems like such an unlikely and unusual story. Here is the short version- For over two decades I have fought hard for victims of crime and for taxpayers in our community- I worked for nearly 18 years at the local, state and federal level advocating for crime victims. I then started teaching students in college about advocating for victims and I am still teaching and loving it for our State University! I even jumped into the crazy world of politics, served for two terms and I have to say, I fought very hard for our residents in my town. You might say I have come close to coining the term “advocate” and what it means to ADVOCATE for people, especially after all these years. That’s an important distinction about me, different than the typical travel agent- I will tell you why in a moment; in case you have not gathered it yet.

You see, all along my professional career path, I loved to travel, to see the world and to get away from it all! Probably a lot like you- I just needed a break. Somewhere along the way, I caught the bug- the TRAVEL bug. Yes, I have a problem.... I am a travel addict. I want to see it all! And that was all it took- I was obsessed with all the options and all the ways to see this great big world we live in. But hey- remember- I worked a couple jobs and never thought I could afford to see the world- never say never- that I have learned! I started small - making plans for family and friends to come with us on our next road trip and travel adventure. I plan one large, amazing trip a year and invite fam and friends to join us. I plan hundreds of trips for family and friends all year long- some small, small large- all get the same attention to detail.

The truth is, what some people hate to plan or dread even, I love and I can’t stop- I will even plan our next vaca on our current vaca. True story! Life is so short and on my bucket list was “become a travel agent”. I told myself that if I can plan the cross-country trips (like you see in this pic of my son and I adding twine to the largest ball of twine in the world in Kansas- YES- I totally did that and dragged my then 20 year-old son into the madness) and I could bring 26 people to a Rock Star vaca at Hard Rock and if I could horseback ride in the fields of Italy, I could bring this art, this skill, this love of planning travel to you- my awesome clients!

I was determined! I walked in, called and emailed (practically stalked) our local travel agency- you see, she had a storefront- I loved that! Where have all the storefronts gone! People can walk in and speak with an expert who had established a business in the 1960s and she wasn’t just still standing, her business was thriving. I have to say I made a compelling case- lol- I am sure she has heard the story a thousand times- but I thought if I could just “do it on the side, you know- part-time” .... to fuel my love and my budget for travel- HA! That part-time gig has become one of the best loves of my life and I am grateful every day that she took a chance on me in June of 2016 and we haven’t looked back- we were off. I am so lucky to call her one of my good friends and an incredible colleague.

So now, after training, certifications and continuing education courses (and of course “work” trips) I work as an outside sales travel consultant- so what does that mean? It means I am an independent contractor- so I make my own hours (make sure you call, text or pm me for an appointment- as I write this it is from beautiful Acapulco - JK- haven’t been there YET) and I work directly for you- the client BUT I have this amazing team behind me and Stacie and Mike (the owners of the agency- you know- that woman who is a travel expert that took a chance on crazy me) work with me constantly to provide me with more support and resources and references than you can imagine! Stacie has truly been all over this globe and what is great about her agency is that we can book anyone, anywhere, anytime! We aren’t limited in what we can sell- we can make whatever your travel dreams are come true!

Oh and better yet-It won’t cost you more to use a travel agent! Yes- you are reading that right! We can save you hassle, headaches and dollars and cents! How can this be? Well we work directly with the hotels, tour companies and more and because Stacie has been doing this for so long- they love her! Our clients love the unfiltered perspective that we offer. Now let’s be honest, I have to make a living as well- what started out as a way to see the world has now become a full time job (along with teaching) and I am getting busy enough to have to limit my trips around the globe- but I am far from done with travel- my goal this year is to take a trip every month so I can plan your next trip with even more knowledge and expertise. I work, not on a salary or hourly basis, but by booking you trip- it’s all commissions- so this sales job is so different than teaching or government- but it’s amazing-challenging and rewarding- but what does this mean to your wallet? -So from time to time, you might see a service fee for an airline ticket or for extensive trip planning- but it’s so worth it- you will see that! And yet, you reach out to experts all the time and pay heavy fees to do this- think about it- your dentist, your Dr., your therapist, your diet plan, whatever it is that you want to know more about- you pay for it- you want someone who knows what they are doing....well, here we are- here I am! And I can’t wait to help you take whatever trip you need planned and knock it out of the park! Is it for work? A high school trip? Boy Scouts? A girls trip? A weekend getaway? A family vaca? Whatever you need- just ask- the sky is the limit and you won’t regret asking me for help- so what are you waiting for...
