We serve only fresh from scratch food with local products whenever possible. The menu allows Mehdi to be creative on a daily basis, and work within the limits of what is in season. Friends’ Riviera, which was established in October 2016, has built over the last 7 years a strong reputation within the community for the quality of its homemade food and stellar customer service. Cooking with strong French and Mediterranean influences, we use local ingredients at the peak of their quality and freshness. While being known for our winemaker’s dinners, patio dining experiences, unique flatbreads, burgers, salads and soups, paired with a worldwide wine selection, the 2020 pandemic led us to redesign our business model. We now specialize in catering services, weddings, private CHEF events and customized lunches. This new format allows to design our menus around your preferences. Our upcoming summer private events will include paella dinners, river dinner cruises, and specialty gatherings. We completed our first series of cooking classes this week. We wanted to thank all the participants for their interest and camaraderie during this first three-week series. Mehdi and I really had a lot of fun sharing with you few recipes and cooking tricks.
During these sessions, along with some wine pairing, we learned the following:
1st week:
Chocolate mousse
Mediterranean shrimp appetizer paired
Béarnaise sauce and grilled flank steak
2nd week:
Berry tart and crème pâtissière (pastry cream)
Braised pork tenderloin and wine vegetable sauce
Béchamel sauce and cauliflower au gratin
3rd week:
Bacon and Parmesan Gougères
Mushroom risotto
Wild cod white wine cream sauce
We certainly hope that these classes contributed to growing the “appetite” for homemade cooking. We are planning on offering more classes in the next few months.
From our perspective, these classes are great reminders of how blessed we are by our community support, the availability of marvelous local products and amazing wineries of the Quincy valley. ( next time I will be taking more pictures of the amazing dishes, this was a in the moment experience that we absolutely loved)!

Friends Riviera is excited to offer for the first time a series of three cooking classes. Our theme for this first wave is “Cooking with purpose, confidence and good technique”. In addition to experimenting fun and delicious recipes, students will have the opportunity to learn some life-time fundamentals. In this series, we will go over:
Using eggs for sauces
Sound grilling and braising techniques
Acquiring knife skills and efficiencies
How to use herbs for depth and finish
Cooking with wine
Béchamel and its applications
Cooking classes will begin February 17th. There will be 3 Groups, a MONDAY evening, TUESDAY evening, and WEDNESDAY evening for three consecutive weeks. Each group will be limited to 8 people. Monday is full, and 7 spots left for Tuesday's and 8 for Wednesdays as of today.
To reserve your date call #509-398-7546 or if you have any questions.
The cost per person is $150 (it is a 3 week course).
All classes will be running aprox. 2 hours from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Flatbread and Wine Thursday is back!! Along with the three options of bread there will be a weekly soup, salad and dessert options available. Reservations are highly encouraged.
