Hipnotixx - Radford Bellydance Club

RU Hipnotixx is all about learning, growing, sharing, and exploring, through the creativity, empowerment & joy of bellydance. We invite you to cultivate an appreciation for and raise awareness of the art of Middle Eastern dance! (Also known as Raqs Sharqi, Oriental Dance or bellydance.) We meet twice a week for one to two-hour "classes," in which we learn history of the dance, technique, dialects

of the dance, run drills, learn choreographies, and learn how to use props (veil, zills, sward, etc.) Activities have included traveling to see the Bellydance Superstars perform, going to Paramount's King's Dominion to compete in their annual dance showcase/competition, and may include performing at student, creative & troupe shows, as well as a bevy of other events. ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE, BODY TYPES AND BELLYDANCE STYLES WELCOME! Bellydance is an inclusive, respectful, open and joyful art, celebrating who we each are-as both people AND as dancers-regardless of the form or packaging it comes in. So whether you're a novice or a seasoned pro, a size 2 or a size 22- EVERYONE is invited to come dance and learn with us! Male, female, Tribal, Cabaret, ATS, Fusion, and everything in between, you will find an open, friendly, warm and welcoming environment in which to express yourself, while we all grow and share in the dance. :)
