The unpaved section of the Moose-Wilson Road in Grand Teton National Park will be temporarily closed for seasonal dust abatement beginning 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 15 and will reopen by 8 a.m. Thursday, June 17. Visitors should plan to use an alternate route as this temporary closure will prevent making a ‘through trip’ on the Moose-Wilson Road between the Granite Canyon Entrance Station and the Teton Park Road at Moose, Wyoming. For those wishing to reach the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve parking area or Death Canyon trailhead, access will be possible by traveling south from the Teton Park Road Junction near the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center. Be sure to plan ahead! NPS/Adams photo.

Happy Birthday, Glacier Park

Happy Birthday, Glacier! 🎉🎂

On May 11, 1910, President William Taft signed the bill establishing Glacier National Park; a year that shared headlines with Halley's Comet, the first public radio broadcast, and the first-ever flight over Australia (flown by Harry Houdini).

A lot has happened in the century that's passed since 1910—but even at the venerable age of 111, you look as good as ever, Glacier.

When visiting Glacier, it is a good idea plan ahead and have a backup plan! Planning ahead will help you have a great time and can reduce your impact on the park.

All visitors to Glacier National Park require an entrance pass to enter the park. A seven-day, annual, or lifetime entrance pass can be purchased online or at park entrance stations with a credit card.

From May 28 to September 6, 2021, day-use access to the park between the West Entrance and St. Mary Entrance will require both a park entrance pass and an Entry Reservation Ticket.

Visitors with reservations for in-park lodging, camping, wilderness camping, boat rides, guided hikes, horseback rides, bus tours, or park shuttles along the Going-to-the-Sun Road do not need to reserve an Entry Reservation Ticket for the day of your reservation. An Entry Reservation Ticket for the day is included in your service reservation. The included Entry Reservation Ticket applies only to the dates of your service reservation. Proof of a service reservation (e.g., lodging, tours, etc.) is required and will serve as your entry reservation ticket. Learn more on our website.
