Here's video showing the current (amps) draw of the Insta360 Ace Pro camera.
It showed some interesting, and surprising results.
Definitely worth a watch if you plan to record with external power.

Baja1000 Ironman Chapter 2
In 2022 customer Florian Schwarz raced the Baja 1000 in the Ironman class.
Ironman means riding the whole race yourself - no co-riders!
Florian is shown as DNF, however he did finish but his 39 hour time missed the cutoff time by a narrow margin.
I can't comprehend 39 hours of riding at race speeds on Baja terrain.

Fast forward to 2024.
Customer Kyle Farrell is prepping and training for this year's Ironman class.
While Florian opted for a motorcycle mount, Kyle is going with a chest mount for his X~PWR H9.
Good luck Kyle -go fast, be safe and have fun (if that's possible in the Ironman class)

Winning Post Productions lobster boats are back at sea for filming their reality TV show Aussie Lobstermen.
This year they have upped their camera count to 24 GoPro cameras with X~PWR H9 kits and custom modified cables on the boats.
The X~PWR H9 cables have the Suptig seal cap and USB plug spliced to them so they will withstand heavy washdown and green water splash.

Ex-Music Ride Update
It's difficult to get my mind back in the ride after having to give up on finishing the route.
We did spend a great day at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. .
The next day we visited the First American Museum.
This museum didn't exist when I was living in Edmond, OK. It is amazing.
Rather than just displaying artifacts, the displays are arranged to tell as series of stories. I wish I could get pictures but flash photography wasn't allowed.

Sad to say that this statue, End of the Trail tells it all.
We are cancelling the rest of the ride due to weather.
The forecast is for ten days of rain and severe storms, including high winds and hail.
We can work around a day or two of storms but 10 days is too long to hunker down.
It's a major bummer as this next week was to be the focus of the ride with Memphis, Nashville, Cleveland and Niagara Falls on the itenerary.

Music Ride Update
Day 6 - First of three short "transit" days to Oklahoma City. We could have done it in two but that would have put us in OKC on Monday which has a tornado watch.
With not much to report let me take the time to thank two people without whom, we couldn't have made the ride.
Tashia - THANKS for house sitting, feeding the barn cats and most of all, shipping orders for the company. You are the best.
Pam (Sandy's daughter) - thanks for taking care of Lola. Your place is home away from home for that little dog. Also thanks for handling that technical issue that we had with a key customer in Tasmania.

Day 3 of the Music Ride.
1st day was cool, in the 50's but comfortable. Snow along the road past the Lassen Park turnoff. Hwy 36 is always a beautiful ride through the trees.
Still cool weather on the 2nd day from Gardnerville to Lone Pine.
Hwy 395 is another great ride with lots of snow on the eastern Sierra.
I forgot to turn on the satellite tracker and caught holy heck from my twin sister who follows me every day. I won't make that mistake again :-)
Day three ride was through Death Valley. Another favorite of mine. I thought Sandy might be bored with the flat expanse but she appreciated the constantly varying geology as much as I do,
Traffic in Las Vegas and Henderson SUCKS! Sure makes me appreciate sleepy little Red Bluff.

This is the most robust of all X~PWR kits. The new cable seal pad actually provides a waterproof seal. I dunked the camera in the deep end of a pool (7ft) and left it for an hour. I came out bone dry.
Note that I will rate the kit as weatherproof not waterproof. There is always somebody who tries to push beyond the specified rating and that would be the end of an expensive camera.

A TV Production company that produces the reality TV show Wicked Tuna and Street Outlaws as well as some other reality TV shows asked if I could design an all-weather external power kit for their DJI Action 4 cameras that are equipped with the SmallRig protective cage.
They use my X~PWR H9 kits for their GoPro HERO cameras and need the same robust power kits for the Action 4 cameras.
Here's what I came up with-
X`PWR A3/4 external power kit for the DJI Action 3 and Action 4 cameras when equipped with the SmallRig protective cage.
Due to the minimum order quantity required by the machine shop being more than the customer requires, I will have some kits left over to sell by the end of the month. Stay tuned for availability

Even though the HERO5 was introduced seven years ago and the HERO6 & HERO7 each one year after the other, they are capable little cameras with lots of them still in use.
We introduced the X~PWR H5 in 2017 and they are still in demand.

Note that we fall below the threshold for having to collect local and state tax (except CA & WI) so savings there will offset shipping cost.
BTW - Amazon has 16 X~PWR MAX 66" kits in receiving. I'm not sure why they are showing ship dates in late August. Maybe they are moving them between warehouses.
