Praying for the folks north of our vacation home, we haven't lost power and have just had some street flooding. Our neighbors here were not so lucky as noon is high tide, so water has steadily risen.

We love these birds! They have a nice tweet, severe skimming abilities, and funny way of laying out on the beach while nesting.

Have you spotted black skimmers this year? Audubon Florida reported that we do have nesting skimmers on our beaches.

Be a champion for nesting seabirds with these simple pointers:

➡️Watch out for nesting shorebirds and seabirds on the ground. Their chicks and eggs are camouflaged and hard to see.
➡️Keep your distance from posted nesting areas and admire them from afar.
➡️Shorebirds are easily frightened and may abandon their eggs and chicks if disturbed. Move slowly and keep your noise level to a minimum.
➡️Throw away your trash to help keep predators and scavengers away from nests and chicks.

Partly cloudy days can't compete with our new gorgeous pool deck, new water-look tiles and sparkly pool bottom. Brand new grills, granite buffet and new cabana bathrooms round out the finishes directly on the beach. Stay tuned for views of the new Cabana roof and a new paint scheme!

Travel is picking up and safe to fly. We have made two trips in December and January with full flights, all following safety protocols. There is only one week of availability left until mid May and that is March 20-27. Other openings include May 11-26; June 1-8 and 16-25; July 24-August 15. Beginning August 16-September 30th our pool is undergoing a huge renovation and discounted weeks are available. Please contact us for more information or to book your vacation!
