Playing duets at Carnation Farmers Market on Tuesday - Shannon Nelson & Julie Werth. It was pouring by the end, so good thing there was a canopy! We also had a huge, very low-flying military helicopter pass over us during one piece!

If you're at the Carnation Farmers Market today, check out our clarinet/bassoon duet anytime between 3:00 to 4:45 pm! Bassoonist Shannon Nelson and I will be having fun entertaining shoppers. There are many vendors and also kid's art activities, freshly cooked food, etc. The market moved to Tolt-MacDonald Park this year. Take NE 40th St. from Tolt Ave (Hwy 203).

Camden, Heather and Nikita did a fantastic job at Clarinet Camp last week. They sightread a huge amount of music from blockbuster movies, Bollywood, jazzy movie themes and Fantasia. While having all that fun, they learned the circle of 5ths, challenging rhythms (Indian music!), mordents, and how to create the best clarinet sound! Good work! CLARINET players - I'm offering two fun group clarinet classes next week (online, June 26 to 30, in the morning). The first is for clarinetists who have played approx. 1 year. Students will get new songs and improve on high notes, crossing the break, reading music, etc. The middle school class has a theme of "Morning at the Movies." Krommer's Concerto for 2 Clarinets will be performed this Saturday and Sunday in Seattle by Sean Osborne, Florie Rothenberg and the North Corner Chamber Orchestra. This online camp is for 4th through 7th graders. It runs for 2 weeks, from 1 to 2 pm, T/W/Th, July 5, 6, 7 and July 12, 13, 14. Take either week or both. I have 35+ yrs music teaching experience.
