Last day at Washington D.C. was hot! If you decide to walk around Arlington Cemetery in nearly 100 degree weather, I HIGHLY recommend bringing a water bottle (or two!) But regardless, it was amazing to pay our respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and see the Arlington House!

The Washington Monument was built to honor the United States’ 1st president, George Washington. This 555 foot marble obelisk is a famous tourist site at the National Mall in addition to the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool. Guests may also purchase tickets to visit the top of the monument!

So we decided we would go to Washington, D.C. for a few days! The first day we visited the National Mall, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and much more!

Unfortunately, due to an error with travel documentation, we were unable to take our Alaskan cruise.. however, we decided to make the most of it and travel somewhere else for a few days so we are still able to have a vacation! Stay tuned!

In addition to being able to experience jaw-dropping scenery (and hopefully witness the thunder of a glacier calving into the ocean), I will be able to see seals swimming freely in the water or a whale spouting air at the water's surface in an Alaskan cruise I will be taking in just 2 days! Stay tuned for facts about Alaska and the Grand Princess cruise ship!

The Alaskan cruise that I will be enduring in 3 days will include Glacier Bay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site with 3.3 million acres of wilderness showcasing massive tidewater glaciers and various wildlife. Not every cruise line is permitted to go here, but it is definitely one of those can't miss, exclusive cruising experiences! Only two ships visit here per day!

In four days, I will be taking a once-in-a-lifetime cruise to Alaska onboard the Grand Princess! Princess has been named the "Best Cruise Line in Alaska" 19 times by Travel Weekly. I cannot wait to enjoy authentic experiences, taste regional cuisine, and meet the local experts who are brought on board to share their personal knowledge of each destination! Can't wait!
