Don’t get me wrong…we love the cooler temps that the Winter brings, but we would be lying if we said we weren’t ready for some warmer weather ☀️

Winter is a beautiful time at the Cottage (especially when it snows!). The Winter provides for more visibility and openness with all of the leaves that have fallen from the trees, but we also love all of the greenery 🌿🍃🌱 that Spring brings and how it contrasts with the blue of the mountains ⛰️

(Side note- the Cottage received a new roof over the porch + some much needed tree trimming and landscaping since the first photo was taken 🙂)

Hi 👋 We’re the Atkinson’s (Megan & Michael), owners of Hays Creek Cottage. A little about us…

Both of us grew up in the Shenandoah Valley, and we absolutely love it! We moved down to Raleigh, NC in 2015, but most of our friends and family will tell you we spend a lot of time (probably too much 🤪) on the weekends traveling between Raleigh and “back home”. We’ve always wanted to find a property that not only gives our family a place to come back to when we visit but one that we can share with others so that they too can experience how special of a place the Valley is.

When we found Hays Creek Cottage, we fell in love and felt right at home. Our hope is that you do too if you decide to come and stay with us 🏠

Shoutout to my Mom Sandy Coiner Wagoner for bringing my primitive farmhouse table dreams to life and building this beauty 🫶

We put in over 5 hours of driving time to collect the chairs alone for this room from 3 different locations, but hey, when you have a vision… 🙃 😬
