Thornapple TimberFrame works closely with a network of qualified sub-contractors to provide the components of timber frame, SIPS (structural insulated panels), doors, windows, and other building elements necessary to achieve our clients requirements. Our frame shop selection is based on species of timber and site location.

Regardless of the specifications or budget, a high quality frame is always the starting point. Thornapple TimberFrame has established partnering relationships located across the US & Canada. Our timber frames are cut by precision computer-numerical-controlled (CNC) Hundegger K2 timber frame machines, as well as handcrafted. Thornapple TimberFrame works with the leading manufacturers of SIPS in North America. These manufacturers use state-of-the-art CNC accuracy, minimizing waste and increasing value all while staying focused on Green Building Principles. We continually strive to create and supply the best components available on the market today.

Really good video explaining SIPs, though he left out Polyurethane (closed cell, class one fire rating, higher RValue per inch) and I don't agree at all that cutting on site is best. It's a giant mess, you have massive amounts of waste (drops) to deal with(special regs on disposal), and not near as accurate as CNC machine cutting.
