Broken Promise

Yesterday I stated that I'd post one or two more photos from Monday's epic sunrise. Who knew we'd get another drama queen the next day too, but, we did. On top of that we had another windless start to the day, so the reflections were abundant.

I put the drone down really low for this one and still had to stitch two images together to capture the full morning glory. Sunrises and sunsets like this are just one of the reasons why folks flock to Rockport.....

This is my Great-Grandfather Clinton L. Smith who was captured by the Indians as a boy, raised by Comanche Chief Tasacowadi as his son, and after the Chiefs death later exchanged for Indians held in captivity by Americans. He and his brother Jeff, who was captured at the same time and raised by Geronimo, were promised they would be stolen back after the Indians were released by Americans but they remained with their families. The Boy Captives is very rich in both Texas and Indian culture and even used in many classrooms over the years. The Boy Captives will not disappoint!

So grateful to have the crew from Veritas aka Donnie and Lorri Cunningham at our place for two weekends in a row for their golf and fishing tournaments! What a great haul on the redfish, and we love knowing they had such a great time enjoying our home!!
