✅ Look for the gold star on your Texas driver’s license — that means you’re set!

🍽️✨ One of my favorite things about travel is experiencing local cuisine in a hands-on way!

While cruising the Danube on Viking Rinda, I learned to make Apricot Dumplings at Göttweig Abbey—such a fun (and delicious) experience! On another cruise on the Lower Danube, I stepped into a local home in Bulgaria and learned to make Banitsa, a traditional Bulgarian pastry. 🥟🇧🇬

Now, I can share this dish with friends and family, bringing a little taste of my travels back home! Food is such a big part of culture, and learning to cook traditional dishes makes the experience even more special.

Exploring History & Flavor on the Upper Danube!

Sailing on the Viking Rinda, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Göttweig Abbey, a breathtaking Benedictine monastery that has stood for over 900 years. Perched high above the Wachau Valley, this UNESCO-listed site is known for its stunning Baroque architecture, rich spiritual history, and world-renowned apricot orchards.

Of course, we couldn’t leave without indulging in their famous apricot dumplings and apricot schnapps—a true taste of Austria’s finest flavors!
