So blessed to be able to give back to another amazing charity. My Warriors place was founded by Kelly, who lost her son in Afghanistan. She purchased a trailer park and made it into a retreat for Military, Law Enforcement, First Responders, and Blue, Silver, and Gold Star Families. It offers a very relaxed tropical setting nestled on the Little Manatee River and provides a safe haven where healing can begin for those who have endured the sacrifice that is made when one serves in the military or as a first responder keeping us safe, secure, and free.
The five acre property consists of several cottages (Studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom & 3 bedroom, RV pads, an office and a little laundromat. Amenities include, but are not limited to canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, fishing equipment, fire pits, gas grills, bicycles, putting green, screened in patios, basketball goal, hammocks, several boats for a day of fishing or relaxing on the water, a boat launch area, 2 docks, and multiple gazebo and garden areas (one with a koi pond). There is also an area that is great for events.
Kelly and team are always looking for additional ways to support and heal and here are their current programs:
The Retreat Center: Provides a place of respite as well as a vacation and/or short term transitional housing.
Everyday heroes USA: Provides catastrophic relief
FAVE Boating expeditions: provides fishing & pleasure boating trips in the local river and out into Tampa Bay.
Project Corregidor: Provides healing program retreats
My Service Dog’s Place: Provides a boarding facility for local service Dogs when circumstances arise which would necessitate temporary separation of handler from their dog.
CODE Fitness: Provides holistic modalities.
My Warrior’s Place is down the street from Beachin' Sun ☀️ and our eligible guests can use the facilities. They would also love ❤️ your support and/or volunteering to assist their amazing programs.
