Read the penny saver and seen an ad for a shop called King of Curl’s off of Freeport Blvd, in south Sac. I worked for Mr. Jay, just a little over year and a half. Then I worked as a Kitchen stylist for most of the time, also my sister being my #1 Fan. Told me for a lo
ng time she would put me in a school. But I was thinking at the time that was not for me, I was a working girl because I worked full time. But in 2008, I had a mentors that seen the talents in me and said when the fall hit. “I need you in school” So I did what I needed to do checked all the school in Sacramento to see who had a good program and Found out about. Sacramento City College, I signed up and started what is call the 1st step. Going back to school after being out of school for so long and only working and doing hair if I could. Made it different for me, But I stayed and completed my first class. They told everybody that passed to check your school email to move to the other part of the courses. I was sent mine late, was unable to keep on the courses but I had to wait. With That said not until the next semester and that was not granted that I still was going to get in. I told myself I would not be at a community collage for 4 plus years. I could not see that happing. So back to work and still doing hair on my free time. So now I’m in 2010 lost my job, then a little after needed a vacation. Sense I had family in Oregon and was able to go out there and show off some of my telnet in the town of Grants Pass. After that come back to Sacramento, and went to School again. Now I think I’m really ready for this now.
