How to search in Private or Incognito mode: In Google Chrome or Safari, incognito is enabled by hitting Command (or “Control” if using PC), Shift, “N”. For Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, hit Command (or “Control” if using a PC), Shift, “P”. This will open a new browser window where your information is not tracked, thus not inflating prices as you search. Note: if you’re using an older version of OS X, open Safari then click “Safari” in the menu bar, and select “Private Browsing”.
Although I always recommend booking through the airline directly when possible (incase something goes wrong and you need good customer service!) here are my favorite fight search engines and why I love them:
Google Flights (good tool to quickly compare flight prices over an array of dates)
Skyscanner (download the app)
AirFar Watchdog (good at finding sale & error flights)
Momondo (broad search engine that sometimes shows cheaper flights than Skyscanner)
Kiwi (combines all airlines to create routes that are cheaper than booing with just one airline)
AirWander (lets you extend layovers into stopovers to visit two destinations in one trip – yay!)
JetRadar (includes budget airlines which many search engines don’t)

Today's spotlight is on the Maldives! (and not just because Minnesota's own Bachelorette is headed there next week) ;)
SNAPSHOT: Among the main attractions of the Maldives are fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving, glorious sunsets, surfing, spectacular beaches, sailboat rides, spas, meeting local residents and, well, loafing.
It seems you have to travel forever to get to the Maldives, so a trip there is often part of a visit to India or Sri Lanka. The Maldives will appeal to travelers who enjoy flat, fairly isolated islands, with spectacular watersports and great beaches.
Nightlife is limited (even on Male) but you can expect terrific food and comprehensive wine cellars in certain island resorts. The Maldives are indeed paradise...who doesn't want to be Robinson Crusoe with a gold card at least once in their life!
