Just spent a week with Susan Martinkovic, my best bud for 35+ years. We've been friends through travels, moves, college graduations, promotions, career changes, marriages, divorces, dating, breakups, loss of family, loss of friends, health challenges and now retirement. All with lots & lots of laughs ❤️

Sue & I stopped between rainstorms to visit 6 Thomas Dambo trolls at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens outside Nashville. This is my 3rd garden location in 3 different states to see these unique (and very cool) trolls. Each exhibit is completely different too.

Road trip this week to Paducah, KY with my dear friend Sue Martinkovic. Paducah is a UNESCO designated creative city (1 of only a handful in the U.S.) and home to the National Quilt Museum. The museum's permanent collection is 700+ quilts plus amazing temporary exhibits. We were in awe of the exquisite textile artistry on display.

We met 34 years ago today. He liked my salt & pepper hair. I liked his chutzpah. A year or so later we committed to each other and have been life partners ever since. We never married - we've both been down that road before and we're both fiercely independent (too much so sometimes), but we've been faithful companions for 3+ decades in this adventure called life. It sounds cliche but I am a way better human being thanks to his unconditional love, his admiration (he's my biggest fan), his unfailing support and his sometimes annoying way of holding me accountable when I'm a pain in the ass. He's a smart, talented, one-of-a-kind amazing person and I love him to the moon and back even in those moments when I don't 😉.
