Here is an example of a Rabbeted floor vent. They are a great upgrade to make your floor look updated and they sit flush with the floor.

This floor had some really bad water damage. And it was also installed incorrectly. While the customer did not want to fix the whole floor we patched it all up after drying it out and sanded,stained,& finished it.
