Cold Case: Joy Kathleen Harmon

Date: 03.02.1976

Salt Lake County, Utah

Joy Kathleen “Kathy” Jones Harmon, age 22, was at the Better Days Bar located at 726 S. State Street on the night of March 2, 1976 with a friend. Kathy left the bar around midnight alone. A coat she had on at the Better Days bar was located at her apartment indicating she made it home that night. She was reported missing by her parents when she did not show up for work, couldn’t be reached by phone, and was not at her apartment. Her body was discovered on March 6, 1976 by a hiker between Emigration and Parley’s Canyon. Her partially clad body was located approximately 300 yards off the lookout toward the Mountain Dell Meadows area.

Jan was last seen Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at her home in Millcreek. None of Jan’s belongings were taken. She is missing under suspicious circumstances

Cold Case: Jenny Atkinson

07.17.2012

Brigham City, Utah

Jenny Atkinson was reported missing on 7/23/2012 from Brigham City, Utah. On 8/10/2012 she was located deceased near Mantua, Utah. Although there were no obvious signs of Foul Play, an official cause of death could not be determined due to advanced decomposition. This case has been worked extensively to determine the circumstances surrounding Jenny’s disappearance and death, but questions still remain.
Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Debbie Marie Grabher

The victim was tied up inside several sheets and blankets then placed in a shopping cart and taken to 743 W. South Temple. The victim was removed from the cart and dragged to a pile of debris in an open field. The body was covered with debris and the suspect left on foot. The Medical Examiner Office determined the manner of death to be homicide. The immediate cause of death is known and being withheld for investigative reasons. This is an open case and the Salt Lake City Police Department is seeking information.

On January 17th, the day after Debbie went missing, a witness called police to report seeing a suspicious-looking male dumping a bundle from a shopping cart. The witness said “the bundle was large and looked suspiciously like a body.” Police confirmed it was Debbie’s body, found not far from her home in a snow-covered lot near 751 W. South Temple.

Reed Taylor Jeppson was a Utah teenager who disappeared along with his two dogs as he walked them on the afternoon of October 11, 1964. Despite an extensive search and media coverage (including renewed attention in the early 2010s), neither Jeppson nor either dog have been located.
