A full height backsplash is visually stunning. Here it’s interrupted by a minimal metal shelf from that will serve as an art ledge and also a tablet holder (because if you’re stuck doing dishes you might as well watch Netflix!) Also showcasing the new(ish) Litze faucet (with a knurled handle that hides fingerprints so well) and a glass rinser.

We’ve always wanted to explore adding the conversation pit back into our Ron Molen home. Since we’re remodeling and replacing the carpet, we uncovered the patched up area. I was hoping to find a time capsule of sorts beneath the plywood, but alas all we found was a tiny scrap of old carpet fiber, and paint outlines that tell a story. It’s shallower than we had hoped, so we’re not fully convinced, but I’m thinking we should go for it! (Collage pics are inspiration images saved from other Ron Molen homes)

While not fully complete, these fireplace transformations are definite focal points in this client’s home! I unintentionally took photos with different artwork on the and it shows how easily you can change the mood of a room with art. Also, we used a heat redistribution kit with the main fireplace in order to mount the TV at a comfortable height, while still fitting in the gorgeous new Vector linear TALL fireplace.

A fun new piece landed on our gallery wall yesterday, by via . I used to believe gallery walls needed to be perfectly measured and planned, but we’ve had more fun just adding things to this wall randomly, and it makes me smile every time I look at it. Our new Mona Lisa reminds us of our first trip to the Louvre in May. Art at the Park is still happening today - check out it if you’re interested in great local art!

This summer has been a little overwhelming with travel and work and the realization that my son is almost to that age where he won’t want to hang out with me and it scares me a little (okay a lot). So social media hasn’t been a high priority.
But, I’m so excited to show off this powder room remodel (that was part of a whole home renovation)! These clients have been so fun because they want personality and character and they’ve been willing to put their trust in me, which means so much. I can’t wait to share more!

Recently completed basement wet bar! These new parents can’t go out as much as they used to, so they wanted to make their basement into a place to unwind, starting with converting a kitchenette into this stylish bar. Featuring shelving from , my fave bar sink from , and finished with a luxe gold faucet from my favorite brand . Cheers to this adorable family with impeccable style!

As a designer who focuses on kitchens and baths, I was in awe of these rooms in the various places we stayed on our recent European trip. Specifically, this kitchenette in our studio AirBNB. This tiny kitchen has everything - sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, drying rack, and even a 2-burner induction cooktop! While I can’t imagine cooking a full meal here, I was still impressed by the components.

I discovered @thedryerdrawer in the Kickstarter section at #KBIS a couple years ago and was intrigued. The product was finally rolled out just as we were planning our remodel, so I was lucky to get a demo model. We were a little reluctant, not knowing if it was something we’d actually use, but we had the space, so we decided to go for it. Though we don’t use it EVERY day, I gotta say that when you spend so much time cleaning up the kitchen after dinner (and this is my job since my husband is a good -yet messy- cook!), being able to hide the handwashing in a ventilated drawer is a game-changer!

Phew! Drywall feels like such a big step in the construction timeline. I’m celebrating by posting some progress photos from the last couple months. There was so much work done to get to this point, and Hills Construction has worked magic to get us here. The next couple weeks will be messy with all the taping, mudding, sanding, and painting. And then the fun can really begin!

If I were a light fixture designer, I would totally design something based on this school of sardines at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

We’re remodeling! Since we bought the house almost 6 years ago, @mikeinut and I have been scheming about the kitchen potential, while complaining about the failures and inefficiencies of the current space. A few months ago a cabinet door fell off the hinges, and that was the last straw. I’ve never done a project this extensive on my own home, and designing it while working, planning, budgeting, and basically moving out of half the house - while converting the basement into a temporary mini apartment - has been stressful and exhausting! I’m weirdly looking forward to experiencing the #remodelingrollercoaster for myself, and we’re lucky to have one of THE BEST remodeling contractors to get us through it (thanks Shane @ Hills Construction)! #kitchendesign #utahkitchenremodeling

It’s the final stretch, where all the last little details need to be just right, and all the site protection will finally be removed to show it all off. This is exciting!

The client said he keeps trying to find something he should have done differently, but he can’t! 🙌 This remodel was in the works for a long time, with many iterations. It turned out perfectly! Unfortunately for me, they have no more interior projects and are looking forward to just enjoying their home for a while… we may need to make dinner plans just so I can see them again. 😁
