What a musical whirlwind I’ve been in from Folk Alliance International to the National Museum of African American Music to Nashville’s Broadway’s country music cover bands.
I highly recommend the museum that has interactive deep dives into artists with music from their peers and their influences. An extra $5.00 buys a wristband that allows you to download songs as you move through the museum-what a deal!!!
Solid players up and down Broadway from noon til night but a little like gawking at the prostitutes in the windows in the red light district of Amsterdam. The light has gone out of so many’s eyes. I had to walk out of Tootsies’ when the girl singer tucked $20 bills in the waistband of her jeans. Hard to take after the glow of Folk Alliance.

This post has been a difficult one to write. After two decades plus of Lavens on The Cove stage, alas our Friday night residency has come to an end. We are so grateful to the entire Asvestas family for their many years of friendship and that will only continue to the end of time. Lisa and the Cove staff have been our family and we’ll continue to support them through the change that is inevitable in any life or business. We’ve grown up together. Our children have grown up together. Now our grandchildren will grow up playing together while we catch up with each other’s lives, successes and heartbreaks.
Four December shows left: tonight, 15th, 22nd, and our End of an Era-a New Beginning concert on Dec 29. Hope to see you. ,
