Day 3 - November 9, 2022
FULL TOUR DAY STARTING IN OLD DUBAI
Our tour guide and bus driver arrived early and was ready to go. We headed first to the Al Fahidi Neighborhood, where we walked down very narrow streets and entered into one of the most fascinating traditional homes back in the day. We learned about their way of life in old Dubai from the mid 19th center until before the 1970s. It was a total different way of life than modern day Dubai.

Then we took a water taxi ride down the Dubai Creek, on an old wooden boat called an Abra at the Burj Dubai Abra Station by Dubai Creek. Then we crossed the street and entered into the market place better known as the gold, textile, and spice souks. We ended the day at the Dubai Mail.

Day 2 - November 8, 2022
A LATE NIGHT ARRIVAL & BIG SURPRISE IN ROOMS
When we arrived at the hotel (Mercure Al Barshar, a five star local brand in Dubai), we were so excited but definitely tired after a 12 1/2 hour non-stop flight and a full day at the airport at JFK and O’Hara.

However, once we completed the check in for each of the guests in our group, we got a big surprise when the manager informed me that they were going to upgrade our entire group from a one-bedroom suite to a two-bedroom suite.

Wow! That included two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two balconies in our rooms. We became totally alert and fully awakened, like little children during Christmas Eve when you see surprise gifts hidden under the tree that you weren’t expecting.

We were just like those little children. We were all giddy, happy, and very thankful for this amazing trip already. Again, wasn’t just for me and my fellow travel business partner, but for our entire group. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Our travel suppliers and vendor relationships are the absolute best. We appreciate for connecting us with this precious hidden gem in Dubai. It was the beginning of an exciting and adventuresome journey that we will treasure for a lifetime.

DAY 2 - November 8, 2022
WE ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT IN DUBAI AT NIGHT The airport was simply gorgeous. Face Masks were optional the entire trip. Sometimes we were them and some times we did not.

The good news was, becaus we arrived late, the airport wasn’t so crowded. Therefore, we were able to go through customs very quickly for our entire group.

DAY 1 - November 7, 2022
THE CHECK IN PROCESS & FLIGHT ON EMIRATES WAS AN EXCITING EXPERIENCE. Each Representative at the counter and in the flight were so friendly and delightful to meet. Once Delta’s Representative kindly escorted my mother over to the Emirates ticket counter, the overseas journey began with a continuance of excellent service.

DAY 1 - November 7, 2022
DELTA SKY CLUB WAS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR OUR LAYOVER BEFORE DEPARTING FOR DUBAI THAT NIGHT. It was an ideal place to get rejuvenated and refreshed on long layovers like we had in New York. The staff were great and the food was excellent. We were able to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks, and desserts. We were able to walk out on the terrace and enjoy fresh air as we watched the planes fly by.

We were able to take a nap in our relaxing seats with our own private enclosed area. We met new travel friends from Senegal and Israel. It made the long delay feel like an extended part of our highlighted vacation.

Day 1 - WE HAD A SMOOTH FLIGHT & LONG DELAY AT JFK: Our nonstop flight to Dubai wasn’t scheduled to leave until late that night so we headed to Delta Sky Club, which was amazing. I don’t think I have ever seen so many variety of airlines in one day like we saw on this trip while in the Sky Club. See how many airlines you recognize outside on the tarmac.

WE WENT TO DUBAI
We did it! We went to Dubai. It was everything you see advertised. The pictures are true the stores are real. The experiences are all what it is hyped up to be. We will chronicle our journey here with you. First my mother and I started our journey heading to New York from Detroit, where we met my husband and others flying to Dubai from JFK. We were so excited!
