The Temple of Hatshepsut or the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is a temple from the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, and the best surviving of the temples built about 3,500 years ago in Deir el-Bahari, Egypt. It was built by Queen Hatshepsut on the west bank of the Nile opposite Thebes (the capital of ancient Egypt and the seat of the cult of Amun) (Luxor today). The Temple of Hatshepsut is distinguished by its unique architectural design compared to the Egyptian temples that were built on the east bank of the Nile in Thebes.[1] The temple consists of three successive floors on open balconies. The temple was built of limestone, and in front of the columns of the second floor were erected limestone statues of the god Osiris and Queen Hatshepsut in a beautiful arrangement. This beautiful piece is by the writer and reader "Kaaber" who was called "Sheikh El Balad" by the workers of the Mariette excavations because he resembled the mayor of their village, a name that is still common among non-Egyptians. "Kaaber" is a fat man who probably reflects the appearance of the wealthy, his eyes are inlaid with calcite, crystal and black stone and outlined with copper from the outside in imitation of eye makeup, all this along with the facial features added life to this statue. "Kaaber" holds something perhaps cylindrical in his right hand and a stick in his left hand (the current version is a copy), and the statue is in a walking position with his left foot forward.
