Get to know some more familiar faces, meet Ashley and Adela👋
Ashley Esquerra is a third-year civil engineering student serving as the Executive Vice President of SCE. Inspired by her father, a math teacher, Ashley developed a passion for civil engineering through his practical knowledge. In her role, she coordinates professional development events, including the annual CE/ENVE Career Fair, and assists the president and other officers. Last year, she served as the Recording Officer. Ashley enjoys the many opportunities SCE offers to get involved and is also a member of ITE and Intervarsity. This year, she’s looking forward to living closer to Panera for endless charged lemonade. Over the summer, she job-shadowed a traffic engineer, gaining hands-on experience with work orders and plan checks in her local neighborhood. In her free time, she enjoys devouring books in one sitting.
Adela Delucchi is a third-year civil engineering student and the Vice President of Events for SCE. Her interest in civil engineering stems from a love for design, innovation, and working with people, which she discovered early on, partially thanks to her many Legos. In her role, Adela organizes social and professional events like site visits, firm tours, and technical workshops, while also leading the Events Committee. She has been involved in SCE since her freshman year and was inspired to take on this role after enjoying and participating in many of the club’s events and serving on the events committee last year. Beyond SCE, she is part of Timber Design Build. This year, she looks forward to spending time with friends and helping SCE excel at PSWS. Over the summer, Adela interned at the Port of Seattle, conducting asset condition assessments for their Structural Engineering team, and enjoyed a vacation to the Oregon Coast.
