Traveling with car seats 💺 can feel almost as overwhelming as traveling with kids.
Don’t worry I’m here to make both easier!
So what should you do with your car seat? Here are three easy ways to travel with that safety seat.
BONUS🍾 Not one of these will cost you a penny more!
1️⃣ Take it right onboard the plane. SAY WHAT! That’s right, take that seat on the plane and use it to create a safe and comfortable journey for your kiddo. This is my personal fave. Especially when a child is new to flying a car seat can make them feel less nervous and more at home.
Traveling with a lap infant? That’s okay, you can message the airline or talk to the gate agent, let them know you’d like to bring your car seat on, most (all airlines I’ve flown with) will ensure if there is an extra seat your family be moved by it so you can strap in your car seat.
2️⃣ Check it at the gate. It may seem like a pain to haul your car seat through the airport and all the way to the gate just to check it, but hear me out, checking at the gate means less people are handling your car seat and they’re handling it for a much shorter period of time, so there is a much smaller chance of damage. Remember car seats and strollers are free to check regardless if it is at the gate or not.
3️⃣ You can always check your car seat at the counter or the curbside check in and you guessed it, FOR FREE. I usually prefer to take ours with us, but when I’m a lone mama traveling with my toddler I will check it curbside so I can have as many free hands to chase my kiddo. In a pinch, I’ve also left a car seat with my mom to fly home with since I had an extra in my car, and she too was able to easily check it curbside completely free even though she was flying kid free.
You don’t need to stress about flying with a car seat . It’s much easier to take your own then to track down a rental you trust and learn how to install it.
