Updated information from Royal Caribbean! You will now have to present a negative Covid test before boarding even if your fully vaccinated.
The policy changes were implemented to combat the Delta variant.
Please check your passports! If your passport expires anytime in 2022, start the process now. Renewal times have gone from 4-6 weeks to up to 24 weeks (6 month backlog). Last week it was 18 weeks. The line keeps growing and over 2.2 million passport applications are already in line ahead of you. Even expedited passports are taking 12-18 weeks. Emergency passports are being restricted to life and death situations only. Walk ins are still not available in most regional passport offices. If you aren’t sure when yours expires, go look. Passports need to be valid at least 6 months after travel has been completed. Technically you have 6 months less than what it says on your passports. Don't assume your passport is valid. Check now and save yourself a lot of stress and time for the future. Be prepared!

Starting today, April 1st, 2021, all tourists traveling to Quintana Roo, Mexico will be required to pay a tax in the amount of approximately $10 to $11 USD per passenger depending on the exchange rate. Payments for families and groups can be made in one single transaction.
Payments can made online at http://visitax.gob.mx/, or at the airport prior to departure at kiosks that accept cash. If guests choose to pay online, they will need to provide the number of people traveling, name, age and passport number of each individual, and their departure date. Tourists departing the state of Quintana Roo must show their proof of payment at the airport prior to boarding.
