Biotica EcoTours will be on an eco adventure in Morocco until the end of October! Since some of our travel is to the Sahara Desert and other remote regions, we will have spotty internet access, but we will respond to all calls and emails when we return.

This little 3 1/2 year old manatee calf came over to say hello during our kayak tour!
We had a cute little Manatee calf come over to check us out on our tour yesterday. We always try to give manatees space and respect. But they are such intelligent, curious creatures that they will sometimes come over to say hello. This “little” one is about 3 1/2 years old and would weigh in at about 800 pounds.

A couple of great kayak tours at Cedar Point Environmental Park with some fantastic paddlers! On the morning tour we had some nesting Roseate Spoonbills on the rookery and on the afternoon tour we had mating dolphins!! It’s pretty hard to top that. 🐬 🐬

There are several great opportunities coming up to help cleanup the Myakka River of debris remaining from Hurricane Ian. It’s a great way to get exercise, meet likeminded people all while doing something great for the planet!
🛟 SOS!! Help us make the Myakka River near North Port wild and scenic again!
We need your help to clean up some of the mess left by Hurricane Ian. We'll be working in the river in and around the Harbor Cove community, which was really hammered by the hurricane.
🚣♂️Kayaks and shallow-water jon boats are needed!
👌No Kayak? No problem! We have 14 to loan out. Just get your dibs in early if you want one.
🧍We'll also need shoreside volunteers.
🧤Work gloves, trash bags, maps and equipment will be provided. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen, and shoes that can get wet and muddy.
👖Lightweight long-sleeved shirts and pants recommended.
We're partnering with Suncoast Waterkeeper, Suncoast Aqua Ventures, North Port Friends of Wildlife and Harbor Cove on this cleanup.

We had a great dolphin encounter on one of recent tours!!🐬 🐬🐬🐬 We were watching a group of dolphins fishing is the shallow grass flats when they decided to come right towards us! This isn’t the first time that dolphins have used our kayaks to corral fish, but seeing wild dolphins that close never gets old!!
Hard to beat that view! Crystal clear blue water to the horizon on today’s kayak tour. 🌊
There were some gorgeous Moon Jellyfish in the sea grass beds yesterday. Nothing is quite so soothing as watching jellyfish swim. That beautiful flower shape in the center is actually their gonads. (Now you can’t unknow that 😉)
Had such a great Dolphin day yesterday!! The water was glassy flat and such a beautiful turquoise color. We were able to watch several dolphins fishing in the shallows, including a younger calf. We hung out with them for about 30 minutes and were surrounded by dolphins. We didn't know where to point our cameras because they were splashing all around us, fishing and swimming right under our kayaks! Such a unique experiece to be able to watch wild dolphins in their natural environment.
