Wishing Happy Travels to this Savannah couple heading out today to celebrate their 30th anniversary and visit their son in Spain! What a perfect way to visit Europe for the first time!

Their first week will be spent near Valencia, Spain taking in the sites and catching some soccer games (hoping to see their son score a goal!) A day trip to Barcelona will give them just enough to want to go back. Then, they will travel to Paris for the last few days and enjoy the beauty of Paris in the winter. It will be a joyful, exciting, and busy two weeks.

Italy remains a top request for good reason - the food, the art, the music, the history, the people! This extended family of six wants to hit all the highlights for their first visit so they'll spend several days in Venice, Florence and Rome coupled with some day trips to the countryside and the coast.

It's been said that, "Paris is always a good idea." I have to agree.

Next month, this lucky Savannah couple is spending a low-key week in the City of Light. They have visited many times and seen lots of the major sites already. Their plan this time around? To simply be a part of Paris. Visit the neighborhood markets, linger over a glass of wine at a cafe, stop in a photography gallery, check out a bookstore, visit the reopened Notre Dame Cathedral and so much more.

ETA=Electronic Travel Authorization

Many countries require them and beginning today, U.S. citizens will need one to visit, or even transit through, the United Kingdom.

✅Everyone, babies included, must apply through the UK ETA app.
✅Cost is £10 per person.
✅Allow up to 3 days for approval.
✅ETA is good for 2 years (unless you get a new passport, then you need a new ETA).
✅Remember that the UK includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
✅You must apply even if you're just transiting through the airport enroute to another country.

Once again, the year has flown by! In 2024, Verdant World Travels clients traveled to 17 countries on four continents! The most popular destinations this year were Ireland, Alaska, Scotland and Italy. The farthest destinations were Japan and Patagonia. Each trip was custom created to be as unique as every client. Some clients celebrated milestone anniversaries, retirements, birthdays, and family reunions. Others checked off major bucket list destinations and some simply enjoyed summer family vacations. I’m so grateful to each of you for trusting your travel plans to me. It’s an honor and privilege to play a small role in your family’s memories.

As for me, it was another busy year of traveling and learning. Work trips included a week in the Netherlands at a River Cruise conference, ten days learning all about Australia in Cairns and Perth, a quick trip to D.C. for another conference, and early December was spent in Alaska with the team at Visit Anchorage. Darin and I did find time to see family in Texas and spent almost three weeks traveling to Southeast Asia - our 7th continent! We loved our time in Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore and look forward to more visits in the future.
