I just heard that my current guests have caught and released 35+ bass at my dock, some 5lb-ers! Two or three years ago the official annual seine catch caught about 3-4 times the “normal” number of fingerlings. They have grown quite quickly into good-size bass! Maybe it’s time for a visit to Robinson’s Roost!

It is officially Autumn and the temperature is cooling, with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. The fish are biting, the water is still warm enough to enjoy a dip, and the kayaks and canoe are calling out to the adventurous! The Traeger pellet grill is ready to grill your steaks, cook your burgers or smoke whatever appeals to you (don't forget the pellets, available at Home Depot and Costco). In the morning, choose how to brew your coffee in the new Hamilton Beach Flex-Brew, either the old fashioned way (Mr. Coffee-style) or by k-cups (bring your own). Fill your mug, head to the upper deck and enjoy your favorite cuppa joe as you look out over the water, serenely enjoying your surroundings, preparing for the day ahead...

Woohoo! Robinson’s Roost now has a Traeger pellet grill! Guests who have used it have thanked me enthusiastically for providing such a wonderful grill. The racks are porcelain and can be scraped with a wooden scraper, then popped into the dishwasher. Remember to stop at Home Depot for pellets before you arrive!

Walls of Jericho Trail is a 6 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Hytop, Alabama that features a waterfall and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.
