When two Hurtigruten ships pass along the coast, something special happens... waves from the decks, a captain’s honk, and Norwegian flags flying high.

A simple yet meaningful nod between those sailing Norway’s legendary coastal route 🚢

How to get home from the northernmost point in mainland Europe?
vavrova shares with us the final stretch of her mission to cycle from from Å in Lofoten to Nordkapp. A journey a little over 600 miles, it’s no small task 🚲

We’re sure the whirlpool bath on the voyage out of Honningsvåg was a welcome sight 🚢 Thanks for joining us .vavrova!

Not only are they photogenic, they also play a crucial role in keeping the landscape thriving by munching away at overgrown vegetation.

These ten adorable goats — Pippi, Fløydis, Waldemar, and the gang — spend their days roaming the mountain, helping preserve the area’s natural beauty.

Norway’s coast is alive with incredible wildlife — from soaring sea eagles to graceful orcas. 🐋 🦅 🐻‍❄️

Through grants from the Hurtigruten Foundation, we’re supporting community projects along the Norwegian coast working towards protecting our wildlife:

🌿 Safeguarding seabirds – Supporting efforts to protect eider ducks by teaching future generations how to build nests and prevent predation.

🌿 Restoring kelp forests – Backing volunteer divers in Northern Norway as they remove invasive sea urchins, allowing marine ecosystems to thrive.

🌿 Protecting endangered kittiwakes – Helping create "kittiwake hotels" in Tromsø to provide safe breeding grounds for this red-listed seabird.

Through collaboration with our guests, partners, and private donors, the Hurtigruten Foundation is dedicated to helping the communities and environments we visit thrive for generations to come. 💚
