An 8-foot-tall display - featuring the first-ever Gingerbread Spaceship Earth - will be in CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT this holiday season 🌐

Beginning November 29, guests will be able to see this amazing creation.

The EPCOT Festival Team and Walt Disney Imagineering have teamed up with the talented EPCOT Pastry team to create this 8-foot-tall gingerbread display, which took over 160 hours. It even will light up and dance to music throughout the day. 🎶

The sphere itself is made up of almost a thousand handcrafted gingerbread triangles to mirror the iconic attraction. There are 240 pounds of honey dough, 100 eggs, 100 ounces lebkuchen spice, 55 pounds dark chocolate, and 100 pounds royal icing. For a final Disney touch, there are 11 hidden Mickeys to represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase. 🌎

Walt Disney World has lifted its shelter-in-place for those staying in resorts during Hurricane Milton, but all parks and Disney Springs will remain closed on Thursday, October 10, 2024 🏰

The Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, recreation offerings and Disney Springs are now closed through Thursday, October 10.

Operational impacts include:

Theme Parks & Disney Springs

All theme parks and Disney Springs—including the parking garages—are currently closed and will remain closed on Thursday, October 10. This includes the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (event tickets will be refunded).

For partially used multi-day tickets, ticket expiration dates will be adjusted to expire on October 11, 2025. View more details.

Please note that our theme park and Disney Springs restaurant hours displayed on the Walt Disney World website and My Disney Experience app are based on normal operating hours. They do not reflect changes due to Hurricane Milton.

Disney Resort Hotel Closures

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are temporarily closed. They are likely to remain closed until Sunday, October 13.

Disney Resort Hotels – Food and Dining

We continue to operate select dining locations for Guests currently staying in our Disney Resort hotels. Please check the food and dining pages for Disney Resort hotelson this website or via the My Disney Experience app for the latest details. Please be aware that operating hours and availability may be adjusted as necessary without prior notice.

Additionally, we recommend planning ahead and stopping by any food court or quick-service dining location to pre-purchase breakfast and lunch for Thursday, October 10.

Disney Resort Hotels – Activities

The following activities may be available for you to enjoy at your Disney Resort hotel:

Free Disney movies in your Resort hotel room
Visit the lobby for surprise Character visits and more family fun
Check out the arcade for free play starting at 4:00 PM

Wind & Waves Grill is closed for dinner on Wednesday, October 9, and for breakfast on Thursday, October 10. The Spa at Disney's Vero Beach Resort is closed through Thursday, October 10.

Minnie Van service is temporarily unavailable.

⚠️ Guests with reservations at Walt Disney World resort hotels between October 6 and 12 will have their cancellation and change fees waived due to Hurricane Milton. This is in addition to the standard hurricane policy.

The Skyliner is celebrating five years in operation at Walt Disney World, and here are some fun facts to mark the anniversary 🎉

- Millions of guests have traveled more than 1 million miles since the launch of the Disney Skyliner

- The aerial route covers nearly three miles with 50 towers and five guest-loading stations.

- There are more than 300 gondolas along the route, and more than 150 themed cabins feature iconic Disney Characters and figures from more than 20 beloved attractions and films like “Encanto,” “Frozen,” “Coco,” “Monsters Inc.” and more.

- Gondolas travel at a top speed of 12 miles per hour. The typical “fly time” between stations ranges from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the route.
