Nothing is more refreshing than an icicle in the dog days of summer. From my childhood, icicles have evolved to showcase any fruit instead of just coming in colorful syrups with no nutritional value. Organic and delicious are relatively easy to find at at salad bars and delis throughout the major Italian cities. So refreshing…mmmh!

Do you know what is a “sfizio”?

It’s more than a craving for comfort food…it’s a relentless desire for flavors that are unique & really special.

When it’s time for a sfizio, we head to Bonci, double park and patiently wait in line.

Mouths wet at the sight of the pizza trays. We try to guess the ingredients until a smily girl behind the counter asks “allora…?”, “so…?” …“What’s in this one? And this one?”. A slice of each because you can’t really say no to this amazing pizza creativity!

In moments, our pizza slices are heated to perfection and cut to bite sizes. The fragrance is intoxicating… can’t wait any more... you are mine!
