sunrise from Clingmans Dome can be incredible!

However, because it’s the highest point in the state of Tennessee and the highest point in the Smokies, and for that matter, the highest point on the Appalachian trail, it creates its own weather.

Just because it’s sunny in the valley doesn’t mean that the peaks are not shrouded in clouds.

Please help us….two bears this past week euthanized because of humans feeding them. A fed bear is a dead bear. 🐻☹️

There has been a lot of bear 🐻 activity in the area and sadly, at times, when they are met with human population the end result can either be euthanizing the bear or people become injured. This happens because people feed the bears and/or get too close to bears and they lose their fear of humans. If there is one message we want to share with our followers is to PLEASE DON’T FEED THE BEARS!

Momma bears will protect their young just as you would project your children. If they fear their cubs are at risk, they can become aggressive. When bears become aggressive they can be put down!

Be careful, be watchful and help us .
