Dylan Stockdale, Former Go-Hawk Baseball Player, offering lessons.

Greetings all, my name is Dylan Stockdale! I am a former WSR baseball player, and I am currently playing at Southeastern Community College. I am back for winter break and looking to do some hitting lessons with young ball players. Below, I have attached a spreadsheet schedule for hitting groups. If interested, please sign up for a spot! Waverly-Shell Rock Youth Baseball and Softball Families,

We want to inform you about a devastating situation affecting one of our families. The Zimmerman family tragically lost everything in a house fire yesterday. Zach and Jessica Zimmerman, along with their three children—Talas, Tate, and Brynn—are part of WSRBBSB family. Talas is a former youth baseball player now in high school, Tate currently plays youth baseball, and Brynn is a member of our youth softball program. As you can imagine, they are facing overwhelming circumstances, and we, as a club, want to support them in any way we can.

The WSR Youth Baseball Board is excited to announce we are bringing back the Go-Hawk Baseball Academy. We are also excited to bring in some of the best baseball instructors in the Cedar Valley and they are right here in Waverly. The Wartburg Baseball assistant coaches will take the lead on all instruction for our baseball academy.

Each player will work on the following skills: Infield, Outfield, Pitching and Hitting. We will start on Friday September 6th from 5-6pm at Cedar River Park Premier and BBall 3 and run every Friday until October 4th. WSR Youth Baseball Academy is open to any Go-Hawk baseball player in grades 2-7 this fall.

Cost: $50 for 5 Sessions

FAQ for Go-Hawk Baseball Academy:

1) Who are the Instructors? Assistant baseball coaches at Wartburg College and current Wartburg Baseball Players.

3) How many can sign up? No limit

4) How long does it go? Every Friday starting on September 6th until October 10th from 5:00-6:00 pm

POOL PARTY!!!

Now that the softball season has come to an end, we would like to come together and celebrate everything that all of the girls (and coaches) have accomplished this year! We will once again be renting out the Shell Rock Swimming Pool on July 12th, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm for our End of Season Bash! We hope that everyone can make it & we are looking forward to another great season next year!

Please click on the link below if you are interested in taking part in the competitive baseball tryout for the 2025 Spring/Summer Season on July 16th at the Cedar River Park Baseball Fields.

Make up/rain date will be on July 24th @ 5 pm

(To be eligible for WSR competitive teams player must attend a WSR School or live in the school district)

Check in will start roughly 30 mins before start time.

There will be a brief 10 min warm up at the beginning of each session. If you need more time to warm up there will be field space available.

What you will need: Helmet, Glove, Bat and Molded Cleats

*Please DO NOT where any team jerseys*

We also ask parents to drop your players off and pick them up at the completion of the tryout.

Please see times for all age groups below. We have added the cost and possible tournament expectations by age group below. There will also be weekly practices and games scheduled throughout the season. Each team will also have a fundraising goal to help keep our fees low.

**You will be trying out with your grade in the fall of 2024 and not based off of the USSSA age calculator**

8U (2nd Grade) $350.00 (4 tournaments plus the state tournament)

9U (3rd Grade) $450.00 (5 tournaments plus the state tournament)

10U (4th Grade) $500.00 (6 tournaments plus the state tournament)

6:45 pm - 8:15 pm

11U (5th Grade) $500.00 (6 tournaments plus the state tournament)

12U (6th Grade) $575.00 (8 tournaments plus the state tournament)
