Caminar: Spanish verb- “to walk”
Our story
Life is a walk. Everyone has their own. Our walk takes us to a variety of places and experiences. Our walk began in 2008 when my two daughters (10 and 15 yrs old) and I made over 50 tote bags as God provided funding for a mission awareness trip to Guatemala to visit our sponsored child of the 7 years prior. The walk continued as 10 year old, Meah made mo
re bags to fund sponsorship of a beautiful little Mayan girl named Monica whom she met while in Guatemala. In 2010, the walk picked up pace when Meah, age 12, and her brother Nathaniel, age 10, with mom’s help made 50 more bags to fund a trip back to Guatemala. In 2013 the walk continues with a new traveler, Jim Hilton, an 85 year old gentleman who anticipates his approaching new heavenly home. He passes down his legacy of 70 years of knowledge and experience in custom auto interiors, upholstery, and leather goods by mentoring and teaching professional leather sewing techniques. We purchase some of his commercial sewing machines. Jim contributes his prize collection of exotic skins of zebra, reptile and specialty leather pieces of unique textures, colors and stories. We now take them in new directions to places they have never been. They are on their own adventure!
