Yesterday evening we hosted an Open House/ Cheese and Wine at our Paradise Meadows Farmhouse.
We invited friends that live on Signal Mountain and our neighbors. I also invited a lady who lives at the end of our road whose eggs I buy but we had never met. And a South African we had met at the July 4 fireworks! So a very eclectic group!
29 people joined Brett and me and everyone really enjoyed the evening. It was fun to see the connections people made with each other.
I would never have coped if my friends Ellen Reinig and Susan Hill had not come early to help me put out all the food. (Doing a type of event you have not done before in a new space takes longer. And much of the food needed to be served last minute. But we made it! Just!)
Hospitality takes time, effort and costs money, but we think it is so valuable to get people together. I am thankful to all who came and look forward to planning more events in the future.

Before and After!
Building the Farmhouse was a lot of work but we are so thankful that already so many people have been encouraged, strengthened and refreshed by being here.
We look forward to welcoming many more people who come for vacations or retreats we plan to host. Who would like to join us for a Heartistry or Marriage weekend?

A vision fulfilled! A Forest Feast set under sparking, solar lights in an opening in the woods of our property. Food served out of the back of Annie Kei, our tiny van. New and old friends gathered around the table, enjoying the beauty and sharing hearts. This was the Saturday night dinner at our first Paradise Meadows retreat. A lot of work and a lot still to clean up today, but it was totally worth it. I loved using the different spaces around our property. We served tea out of the tiny van on Saturday afternoon. Had s'mores at the fire pit next to the tiny house and met in the Farmhouse for our times of worship, sharing and community.

With all this snow, one can imagine our Farmhouse is in Scandinavian not in the woods of Signal Mountain, Tennessee! Come away for a peaceful respite in our newly built home. Don't feel the need for quiet? Bring 5 friends with you and spend time eating around the antique farm table, watching movies while tucked under soft blankets, playing games or going for long walks.
