Save the date and get your fishing gear ready! 🎣 🐠🐟

The Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, May 11 from 9-11 a.m. at the Sikeston Complex Lake.
There is no charge to take part, but participants must provide their own equipment, bait and nets or lines to keep their catches in the water until judging is over.
Participants will compete for prizes in three age categories: 5 and under, 6-10 and 11-15. Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish caught and most pounds weighed.
The lake will be closed to the public until the derby is over.

The 2024 Swamp East Missouri Truck Show & Convoy by Swamp East Missouri Truck Show & Convoy starts today! Trucks have already started lining up at the Complex!

Friday: The trucks will line up around 5:00pm at the Complex. Once all lined up and ready, they will head down Salcedo to Main Street. From Main, they will get on Hwy 60 to head to Charleston. The plan is to (hopefully) come into Charleston at exit 12, come down Marshall Street, and turn to South Main so that they can get back Hwy 60 at exit 10. Everyone always asks for a specific time, it is not exact. I would say be ready at 6:00 and they should come through no later than 6:30.

Saturday: 9-4! Big truck show + food trucks with proceeds benefiting Kenny Rogers Children’s Center of Sikeston! Sikeston Parks and Recreation will be tag-teaming with our Mighty Machines Explore a Vehicle event in the basketball parking lot right off of Ingram. (9-1). Message us if you have a vehicle you’d like to enter in the Mighty Machines portion of the event. We would love to have you!

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did at the Total Eclipse of the Park event yesterday! A few of the space backpack winners are pictured from Oxford MS, Huntsville AL, Trenton TN, St. Louis and Monument CO. Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed the event with us!
