Last year I planted hundreds of bulbs in hopes of beautiful daffodils in my flower bed and around the property. Wouldn’t you know it? I think I had three flowers. So, this year we’re going the mature perennial route with flowers that can tolerate up to -30° with a drip system until the cold weather comes. Can’t wait to see how this plays out.

The cabin remains a work in progress, but it's coming along! Now that the new windows are installed, the logs are receiving a coat of stain, the window trim has been stained, and the rails and decks are getting a refresh. More to come. 🙂

Early last evening the Renewal by Andersen LLC team finished a 4 day project of installing new windows in the entire cabin. It’s the first big project that now sets off a series of additional projects starting with painting/staining the trim. Thanks to the team for doing a great job!

We're slowly evolving the cabin into a lighter and more modern Scandinavian log home. One of the first rooms up is the bunk room, now transformed into a den.

Spring skiing at Breck. Stay at the Dairy. Dates available.

Breckenridge boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the US, opening early November and now staying open until mid-to-late May. April is one of the best times to visit Breckenridge because days are filled with live music, events and the traditional spring break crowds are gone. The temperatures are much warmer in April, but it is still one of the snowiest months, making it perfect for powder turns and Apres drinks on the patio.

Our little town of Silverthorne (where the Dairy is located) is growing up! New additions, all part of the Fourth Street Crossing include Hotel Indigo, Enzo’s Deli and the Bluebird Market - all along Hwy 9 and just minutes from the cabin. What fun.
