“Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your home! It was beautiful and such wonderful experience for our family. Very tastefully decorated and well maintained. We made some great memories there! We also loved Smyrna and had no idea how cute the area is before coming. We were pleasantly surprised with all the things to do within walking distance. We definitely recommend your home to anyone who wants to stay in the area in the future!” - Mervin

The heartbeat of - obviously.

Our guests have enjoyed the generous counter space for their family meals while keeping up with the action in the living room. What do you see yourself preparing here?

YELLOW DOOR INSPO: yellow Jonquil flowers || If you’re not local to Smyrna, you probably aren’t aware that the City of Smyrna is called the Jonquil City.

According to the Smyrna Historical Society the jonquils were introduced to Smyrna by Samuel Taylor and his wife who moved to Smyrna from Atlanta in 1883. The Taylors purchased 80 acres of land on Atlanta Road south of the intersection with Collier Road.

The Taylors had a son who lived in Spokane, Washington. He sent his parents a burlap sack from Spokane with what are believed to be the area's first jonquil bulbs. The Taylors shared the bulbs with friends and neighbors. The flowers quickly multiplied and came back every year with very little care. The Taylor home is preserved and is part of the Taylor-Brawner Park property just a quick jaunt down Atlanta Road from our home.

Rolling into 2022 with only excitement for all the guests we’ll host this year! When we launched this house as an Airbnb last Spring, after so many loooong months of renovations [only dragged out the more by the Rona and supply chain shortages], I was all nerves! It was an emotional journey to let her go as my primary residence after nearly 14 years living here. Would anyone be interested in visiting this darling house I called home for so long? Would the guests love the charm + quirks of this 1950s ranch as much as I did? Would they swoon at the late afternoon light pouring into the living room that brought me so much peace? Would they enjoy overlooking + interacting with their friends & family in the living room while cooking their hearts out in the kitchen? Would they be nice to my amazingly sweet & caring neighbors on the cul de sac? Would they endulge in a quaint neighborhood walk and say hello to all of the wildlife living in the park & pond behind the house? Would any of the horror stories of major parties and damage come true here?

And within the first couple of hours of being live, we had several reservations who were able to create beautiful memories with their family in this house I cherish ever so much.

I’m SO incredibly full of gratitude for all of our guests in 2021….what an honor it has been to share this home with y’all! And thank you for choosing our Yellow Door Smyrna for your family & business travel needs! 🤍🚪
