Dear Creatives,
I hope you will join us virtually for a time of reflection and preparation for Resurrection Sunday.
In Christ, Christine

Greetings dear Jonahre family,

In 3 days time, the Jonahre Art Foundation will be hosting a “Virtual Art Walk” for Holy Week starting midnight of Palm Sunday 4/5 on our Instagram. We will release a new piece for reflection every 12 hours leading up to Easter Sunday.

At a time of global pandemic and social distancing, you may be struggling to connect to the Church and our hope in the gospel.

Instead of giving into despair or distraction, we want to invite you into the homes of our artists. Come and contemplate with art that engages with Christ’s transformation of suffering to the resurrected power and communion He extends.

Update from Section 204's Writer's Group:
Author Tammie Eddington Shaw engaged us with personal stories, humor and insight of how she learned to walk with God’s Wisdom through her fears that she’s battled much of her life. I could see that Tammie impacted and inspired our group by the head nodding and note taking during her workshop. Thank you Tammie for blessing us!

At one point Tammie said that friends and family may actually discourage us, so you need to “find your cheerleaders!” And she added, “I heard what a great group of cheerleaders this writer’s group has become.” How true and grateful I am for all of you!

Thanks to the 22 writers who showed up to be inspired by Tammie and share their work. Even though some of you had prior commitments, you still showed up for part of the evening - way to support the launch of our guest speaker series.

We are truly blessed with our creative gifts and a wonderful community - thank you God!

Artist Bio, Bobbie and Steve Puttrich:

"We are so grateful, in recent years, to share our work with our Willow Creek family.
In our artwork, we are compelled to see the wonder of Gods creation and capture the feeling we get when we experience it. To share these experiences with you the viewer, brings us great joy.

As young artists, we met at the American Academy of Art in 1980. At that time, we began to attend Willow Creek, were married, and later our children grew in Gods light and love within our church home. We love coming to Willow Creek not just for the growth and deeper connections we have with God, but to be in a thriving community of fellow creatives.

Our art school mentor in faith and in art, Eugene Hall, insisted that we always paint the truth. We strive to do so in every visual story we create. It is in these stories, these truth moments, we hope to communicate Gods light and love through our works."

Bio:
I live near Chicago with my husband and my little dog Mini. Jim is well known as The Rent-a-Rev and unites couples in marriage. We love spending time with our five beautiful grand-kid who live in Louisville and Los Angeles.

In 2000 I found great joy when I began to paint abstracts which I call "earthy liturgies". I enjoy creating art for clients' homes and offices as well as organizations.

Stories and Layered Magnetism:
One of my favorite forms of expression is to merge photographs over my art...sometimes adding words. These composites are printed and layered onto fabric, metal or wood. We call them Magnetic Blox.

A new world opened when I discovered how to use iron particles with my paints. These magnetically receptive pieces of art make the perfect home for Magnetic Blox.

I am honored to share how this new and powerful art form
is being used not only in our everyday world, but as a way to remember the most important moments and special people in our lives.
