New to RV life! Our very first RV 4-month adventure from our home in Lake Tahoe to Florida. As newbies, we got lots of great advice! We did our best to follow but a few hiccups:
1. We planned to depart on Thursday but had to spend so much time getting our house ready for the Ski lease, we couldn't leave same day so we had to sleep in our trailer in our front yard.
2. Therefore, on day two instead of driving halfway to Palm Desert we drove all day with the vision of warm weather as our goal! We left at 7:30 AM and arrived at 6:30 PM. Definitely a long day in the car for the pups!
3. We were advised not to arrive at night in the dark however, this wasn't the case so we stumbled around trying to get the thing parked lol.
4. We didn't plan in advance to have any food so pretty much just had tortilla chips and cheese dip for dinner.
5. Dogs needed to get out and run around and we couldn't find the poopy bags so had to go with paper towels.
6. When we decided to go to bed, we had no power in the RV and we really wanted to watch Netflix. we tried all kinds of different cords. Plugging in this and that trying to figure out why the electric wasn't working. We thought about asking ranger people if we should move sites but it was like 10 PM. It turns out it was the breaker for the outside power and Bryan finally got it working.
7. Why, I have no idea, but the overhead light in the sleeping compartment would not turn off ...not for anything so we're trying to go to sleep and it's super bright. We had to dismantle the entire light so now we won't have a light in the sleeping area.
8. A little mess to clean up later, but the entire dog shampoo spilled in the storage area where we have all the pots and pans. We'll deal with this after we get some coffee. ☕️ we're off to a great trip and we only have 3 months and 29 days to go! We are going to make some coffee, take the dogs on a walk with a poopy bags which we found, and then head to breakfast since we don't have any food and spend the rest of the day by the pool! We are three nights here in Palm Desert, than we take our adventures to Arizona!
