Since 2004, my firm has been creating spaces that are refreshingly simple in structure, while richly textured through material and plant choices. We do this by bringing the ecology of the site, the architecture, and our client's needs together with a clear aesthetic. This approach stems from extensive experience in the arts and landscape design. As the child of English parents, I feel that garden-

making is in my blood and have visited gardens and estates throughout Europe. After a successful career fundraising for major cultural institutions, I earned a certificate in landscape architecture (with distinction) from UCLA Extension in 2009. The years following included design work at Lenkin Design, a boutique firm specializing in high-end residential projects and North East Trees, a design/build firm with a focus on sustainable design. I believe in civic engagement and sit on the Board of South Pasadena Beautiful, in addition to working on pro bono community projects. Today my firm is engaged in projects ranging from urban courtyards to rural getaways. We also help our clients’ projects run smoothly by seamlessly interfacing with other members of the project teams, such as contractors, architects, interior designers, and engineers. This collaborative spirit is at the heart of every successful project we undertake.

Noted with each ornamental grass is its Plant Hardiness Zone, or the areas of the US best for the needs of the plant. For referenc...

Sponginess -- coming to a city new you! Check out our new blog post on rain gardens and 'Sponge Cities."

Just in the past few weeks, we’ve experienced more rainfall than Los Angeles typically has seen in a year. As rain and flooding have increased worldwide, cities have turned to green infrastructure to combat such issue. Founded by Kongjian Yu, landscape architecture firm Turenscape devoted decades ...

Could bocce be the new pickleball? It’s time to get in on the fun. You can even put one in your backyard, and you don't need much space!
