These are the bane of my existence!! …Well, until Covid came along! 🤦🏼♀️But nothing will delay/ruin a trip more often than bad weather, lost luggage and/or a canceled or missed connection/flight! ⛈🧳🛫. ➡️So what do you do to avoid it? ⬇️• Weather: Check your flight early, & make necessary changes if possible. Use your travel insurance’s 24-hour hotline to rearrange your flights/rebook you • The best way to avoid lost luggage…don’t check it! If you can’t do that, buy travel insurance. No, it won’t get your items back to you any sooner, or at all, but at least it will help with the financial burden of losing you luggage! • Missed connections & cancellations: making sure you have plenty of time in between your flights. But otherwise, it’s left up to the travel gods…and the airlines! ➡️What to do if one of these happens to you? ⬇️• Go to your gate agent or contact your carrier to reschedule your flight, if they haven’t already. If you have travel insurance, contact the 24-hour Assistance line, & have them arrange your next flights. • Lost Luggage: Head to the Lost Luggage counter, fill out the form, give them your information & itinerary, & they will contact you for delivery• Missed Connections/Cancellations: Go to your gate agent, or call the airline, and have them rearrange flight, or call the 24-hour hotline if your travel insurance & have them arrange your flight(s) ➡️Have you ever experienced one, or even all three of these on one vacation? Last month we drove to the Oregon coast, but, there is just something about driving through the Columbia’s Gorge that is so beautiful, awe inspiring, magical, spiritual, healing. I just had to share some of the beauty that we witness that day during our drive, because for me, it was truly a very healing moment. Without going into to much detail, our family has, to put it mildly, been going through a rough patch, and this day, this drive, felt like a turning point for me. I had been in a depressive mood, incredibly sad, feelings that I’ve (thankfully) never personally felt for an acute long term or short term period. I can’t even describe the feeling of the burden lifting as we made our way through this beautiful part of our great country. But I wish I could give this experience to everyone. As much as I don’t like to be out there “physically” in nature, hiking, camping, the like, I still feel a true connection and bond with the earth, the sky and my surroundings. And this day, I felt very present in my surroundings. I felt my healing truly being. Travel is such an amazing gift. And our earth is an amazing provider ❤️ I truly get why people travel to find themselves and how opens their minds and heals their souls. I feel like this is such an important element in travel. As a perfectionist and someone who always wants the make the most of my own trips, I used to not schedule in time to get lost, to take in the moments. It was always, “We need to be here by this time, and leave by this time, or will miss such-and-such by this time!”But I have learned, I have evolved, and I have taken on a more “ah if we see it we see it” approach. Cruising the Rhine and Main rivers has been an absolute dream, and to do it during my favorite season (autumn), with all this fall foliage, how could I be anything but ecstatic! Hope you enjoy some of the beautiful, historical, seasonal and breathtaking views I’ve shared in this reel. I can’t reiterate it enough though, I really didn’t think I’d love river cruising as much as I did, and originally I was kind of sad by how much time was spent cruising and not exploring more destinations. But in reality, it’s a perfect combination of pavement pounding to relaxation ratio! I sincerely love. Ring on boats anyway, and this is just such an extraordinary way to see the country side. I wish I could describe how amazing it is to wake up on the water to a different beautiful German fall scene everyday! Sometimes it’s a city view, sometimes it’s countryside, but always spectacular!So far this @amawaterways river cruise, on the AmaPrima, has been nothing but spectacular! The ship is only 1/4 full, the weather has been fairly good, the guides are fantastic, and the crew has been nothing but amazing! And the multi course meals are nothing but divine!!! I’ve never been fed better!Especially dealing with the list luggage! They tracked it down and made sure it arrived to us!
