DiVine is a character you may not even know about at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! She is easy to miss if you are not looking closely! (Or maybe you did see her, but didn't know her name.)

When she is standing still, she blends in with the flora of Animal Kingdom and she is very difficult to spot! When she does move, it is with delicate and graceful motion. Her height ranges between 7 and 16 feet, depending on what she is doing with her hands and legs.

She doesn't speak or sign autographs, but you can usually grab a selfie if you want. You can usually find her near the stroller rental area near where you enter the park.

Here are 5️⃣ bits of trivia about our pal Mickey.

🔴 Walt wanted to name him Mortimer Mouse, but Walt's wife Lillian didn't like that name.

🟡 Mickey's first words were "Hot Dog!"

🔴 Walt Disney voiced Mickey Mouse in the early days and Bret Iwan is the current voice.

🟡 Mickey's very first appearance was in a short called "Plane Crazy," but it was not released to the public until after "Steamboat Willie" debuted and was a success.

🔴 Mickey Mouse was the first cartoon character that received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

I remember one time my husband and I thought we could handle laying a new wood floor in our house. We bought the flooring, got some tips from a friend, and we were just sure we could knock this out in a weekend.

YIKES. That did not go as planned.

Have you ever started a project you thought would be pretty simple, but once you got started you realized you were in for a LOT more work than you originally thought?

Needless to say, after hours of frustration, confusion, and exhaustion, we realized the error of our ways and called in a professional. (And they had to start the project ALL OVER because we didn't start off so great.)

More exciting news for 2024 Walt Disney World guests! Park Hopping will no longer be restricted until after 2pm starting Jan 9, 2024.

Here is a recap of top changes effective Jan 9th:

✅ All day Park Hopping will return for those who purchase Park Hopper tickets.

✅ No park pass reservations for those with date based tickets (most people have date-based tickets).

✅ Disney Dining Plans will return so you can have your meals included in your package.

It was a memorable day. He turned one and had his first real dose of SUGAR.

We had our closest family and friends over. I made a Mickey-shaped birthday cake. He toddled around, we opened presents, we sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

He doesn't remember a bit of it, but I do.

Traveling with little ones is sometimes like throwing their first birthday party. It may be a lot of work and they won't remember it at all.

But you will.

You won't forget when they stuck their toes in the ocean the first time or when they gave Mickey Mouse a big hug. So yes, we throw the first birthday party and take them places to watch them experience joy and new things. But it is also for us. And that is amazing too. ❤
