Penn State Steel Bridge Team

The Penn State Steel Bridge team takes part in the ASCE National Student Steel Bridge Competition every year.

The Penn State Steel Bridge Team is a student run organization sponsored by ASCE that provides civil engineering students experience in real-world bridge design schenarios. Each year, the competition presents a new, unique, real-world scenario for which students have to design and construct a model steel bridge. The bridge is critiqued on weight, construction time, deflection, and other criteria.

The Penn State Steel Bridge Team reached the National competition in 2008 winning 4th place in the country and most recently in 2011.
