They also have place down and walk beautifully on the leash.
We also took Logan to the vet and he looked at the shelter vet records and said "he was just at the vet if anything was wrong they would have caught it" and then promptly refused to do another physical exam. We'll be getting a second opinion.

Hello!

I know it's been a while since we've made a post, but we are still around. I'm awful at taking pictures and video while working with clients so that doesn't help.
With the ranch growing and becoming much more than dogs and cats we have big changes coming.

Week 1 update on Merlin:
We are on day 2 of no accidents in his kennel 🥳🤦‍♀️
He is a sweet good boy that has few manners and no idea how to dog. With working so much on potty training and basic manners, like we do not jump on people to greet them or rush through doors, we have not even touched basic obedience yet. He walks beautifully on a leash and wants nothing more than to please you. He is a typical shepherd that wants to be with you at all times, not 10 feet from you... Literally glued to your hip, and does have anxiety. He will play if you are playing with him, but doesn't fully understand the dynamics of "playing" and we're working on him not being possessive of the toy once he actually starts playing with it.
Overall he actually has made some good progress, he sits politely and waits for his food, he's chasing the barn cats less, he sits and waits before going through doorways, and his anxiety is decreasing.

This past week the beautiful Nani came and stayed with us for a board and train. We worked on her reactivity on the leash, her excitement around cats, her recall, and her bad habit of barking at cars. Here are some of our results.

Several days a week, I would love for it to be every day but that's not possible, I make it a point to go in and read with what we have dubbed the "Barn Babies". They play and jump over my legs and eventually settle down and cuddle in around me while I read. These sweet babies are ready for their own homes and people to snuggle with. Even if you aren't looking for a cat right now please share them, maybe one of your friends is.

Spotlight on Sparky!
And she is just that! Super spunky, Sparky loves to play and is one of the more outgoing kittens. As you can see she also likes to curl up near you and chill once she's done playing. She's sure to light up your life! 🎆🎇

Spotlight on baby Bell!
Bell is the runt of the group and while she is shy her personality is blossoming. She's the first to run to you at dinner time and loves snuggling with her siblings.

The kittens and mom were pooped after surgery, but everyone is officially fixed, vaccinated, and ready for furever homes of their own.
We also found out that the kittens are two separate litters of Ruby and Blue's. Bell, Justice, and Jubilee are 3 months old and Revere, Star, and Sparky are 5 months old. That's how scary fast cats can get pregnant again.
The vet also let us know that they cannot accurately age the adults so while Ruby and Blue's paperwork say they are a year old all we truly know is that they are very young adults.

Spotlight on Jubilee!!
Jubilee is the friendliest of the bunch. She was the first to warm up to me and is the first to come over and greet you. She's got a goofy sweet disposition that will make you laugh and melt your heart.

Spotlight on Ruby and Blue!

Ruby and Blue are both incredibly sweet and social. Blue is about a year old according to the vet and we will find out how old Ruby is next weekend. Blue is still very playful and has some kitten energy left in him but can also be cuddly while Ruby is more on the cuddly side and likes to be laying near or on you most of the time. Both have been great parents and now deserve a home of their own.

Star is the prim and proper sister who holds herself with elegance. She is very regal but is the first one to help out and she loves to play. This sweet and silly girl will keep you entertained.

Spotlight on Revere!

Revere is very sweet and the best brother. He's curious and playful and loves to lay in a cuddle puddle with his siblings. He acts too cool for school but you'll find him curled up by your side soon after you sit down.

Meet the 4th crew!! Momma and papa cat Ruby and Blue are super sweet and very bonded, we've already had dad neutered before they were allowed to be together. While they could go back to being barn cats it would be amazing if someone would give them the chance to be family cats. Either way they need to be adopted together. Then you have the babies Revere and his 5 sisters runty Bell, Star, Sparky, Jubilee, and Justice. Revere is super serious but curious, Jubilee is absolutely the most outgoing and silly and the first to come up to you, and miss Justice is super shy and the only one that is still hissing at me. They have an appointment to be fixed on September 12th and then they will be ready for their forever homes.

What better way to spend the holiday weekend than training two handsome boys and rescuing some kitties!
I got to work with my handsome George this week and he was a Rockstar, as always, and I got to work with Gabbo who did fantastic during his session as well. Gabbo has some insecurities and has trouble with other dogs on walks. This weekend he was able to take a walk with Zeus!
The wonderful cat rescue community I have the privilege to be a part of got a plea for help that there was a mom and 3-4 kittens at a house that is scheduled to be demoed and the new owners of the property wanted them gone. We went out and caught mom, dad, and 4 kittens. Late yesterday afternoon we got a call from one of the workers that they saw another kitten. We went out today and caught 2 more kittens and scoured the property again to check for more. Mom, dad, and all 6 kittens are safe now! Mom and dad are incredibly sweet but the 6 kittens are feral and don't trust humans. I will be working with them to gain their trust before they can be adopted. Mom and dad are very bonded and would do well as barn cats or if someone can be patient with them they have the potential to be good house cats as well.

The Before and after of Champ:

The first video is of Champ at the very beginning. There was another dog a block away that he could see and that was his reaction.
The last two videos are of one of our last sessions where he is able to safely and calmly pass another dog just a few feet away. I unfortunately didn't get any video of our very last session where he and Zeus went on a perfect walk together side by side, but I am very proud of how much this boy learned and grew.

I had the privilege of working with two handsome boys today!
Georgie is working on his door dashing and boundaries in the yard after he found out that not all other dogs are his friends. Frances' owners are nipping some over protectiveness in the bud early and working on his leash reactivity and wariness of strangers in the house. Both boys did amazing today!

I also apologize for the large gap between post, when I am training, especially with newer clients, I typically don't take a lot of photos/videos as I am focusing on the training.
