Hi Friends! I’m posting today to let you know that I’m volunteering at the Routt County Dems office today between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. If you live in Routt County and you’re out and about, stop by to pick up a lawn sign, make a donation or just to say ‘hello’! The entrance is by the parking lot and we leave the door open, so come on up the stairs. It’s the office at the top of the stairs on the left! Thinking positive for this very important election year! 🌞

One of my favorite stops along Doo Lough. If it weren’t for the motor, this would seem like a photo “made” in an older time. Thanks to everyone on our trip who inspired me. You may think I inspired you, but often the teacher is inspired by her or his students! And thanks to Strabo Photo Tour Collection for doing a terrific job organizing this tour, Cormac Connie Cullen, our talented guide, and of course, my wonderful co-leader/husband, Joel Schulman for everything you did for me and our group.

Insight: Art for Climate Action, is an Art Auction Fundraiser to Benefit the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council. The event is this Saturday evening, June 29th. Insight celebrates the power of art in communicating the science and meaning of climate action in the Yampa Valley. The online auction will be open through Saturday.

“Taking Off is my framed metallic/acrylic photograph which will be on display at the Art Depot in Steamboat for the month of June. The exhibition will include artists who have created artwork for the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council’s 2nd Annual “Insight: Art for Climate Action" event and is an art auction fundraiser that celebrates the power of art in communicating the science and meaning of climate action in the Yampa Valley.

I was fortunate to capture the two American White Pelicans while kayaking on Steamboat Lake with my husband, Joel Schulman, who helped by paddling slowly as we approached the pelicans. It’s not easy to creep up on wildlife on land and even more difficult while on the water! I made a number of exposures with my iPhone and amazingly was able to make this composition, which shows the wonderful Fetcher Barn and Sand Mountain in the background! This gorgeous 1,101-acre man made reservoir is only one of the important lakes and reservoirs in the Yampa Valley that support the riparian areas where we live. Not only is it the center of Steamboat Lake State Park’s many activities, it provides home for numerous species of birds and other wildlife.

I donated my Spirit of Winter fine art matted print to the 24th Annual Wild Edible Feast online auction and wanted to give you some information about it. This print is an archival reproduction of a hand painted original - 10”x15” in a 16”x20” conservation mat. I photographed this scene while snowshoeing on Rabbit Ears Pass and it remains one of my favorites. The Crane Migration Celebration is taking place tonight, March 8th in Steamboat Springs and is a fundraiser for the Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition. The online auction will help to raise funds for their extensive programming. I’m donating an 18”x36” Gallery Wrap Canvas print of “Together2,” a Sandhill Crane pair flying high above me. You never know ‘who’ you’ll meet on the side of the road in County Donegal, Ireland! This friendly ewe came right up to me…and yes, it really was all those colors. The sheep farmers use temporary, non-toxic color on their sheep to help distinguish their ewes from other flocks.
