I am a state-licensed child care provider with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood Development and a concentration in Music. As a state licensed provider, I hold current certification in CPR/First Aid, have passed the criminal background check and the child protective services check through the Office of Background Investigations, have been screened for TB, maintain a safe
and clean environment (subject to unannounced inspections), maintain detailed emergency preparedness plans and conduct frequent safety drills, am in compliance with proper zoning regulations in my community, and serve nutritious meals and snacks. I am a participant in the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program, but my nutritional standards far exceed theirs. You will never see such things as processed meats, white rice, white bread, sugary breakfast cereals or canned vegetables in this house! What you will see are fresh, whole, organic foods. Children here learn good eating habits from the start, and I love hearing “May I please have more kale (or beets or spinach or collard greens…), Miss Gail?”
Located in a non-smoking single family home with a large fenced backyard in a quiet neighborhood, my childcare provides a bright, cheery, loving, and nurturing environment perfect for fostering children’s sense of security and belonging, in which they can explore, experiment, create, and learn in a fun and active setting. Our daily schedule includes ample age-appropriate educational activities for children, lots of arts/crafts and opportunities for creativity, hundreds of books, plenty of exercise and opportunities for free play, and lots of music and dancing (I taught piano for years and am currently a west coast swing dance instructor). I have been a licensed childcare provider for more than 9 years, and have extensive childcare experience beyond that. Please contact me (Gail) if you are interested in more detailed information on my childcare or if you would like to schedule a visit.
