(We hope you brought a warm coat). Kit and Marena met years ago during a college and discovered they both have a tremendous love of pop culture, crafting, and cats. Black cats are especially close to their hearts from Kit's beloved Spider Cat to Marena's favorite chubby black cat Z'ha'dum (the kitty kiddo of friend and former roomie, Lena). After many conversations over Kit's cross stitch, Marena'
s beading, and many text messages with pictures and adventures starring these rascally black cats, they decided to go into business. Marena began crafting at a young age making chokers, horn rattles, and other items. As she entered high school, she learned beadweaving, loom work, and raised beadwork. She's recently rediscovered her love of beading and aims to combine a culturally relevant art form with her pop culture interests. Kit first started sewing in their great-grandmother's living room as of way of entertaining themselves. Their great-grandmother shared her love of sewing, creating quilts, pillows, dolls, and pincushions. They are somewhat new to cross stitching, having picked the craft in graduate school as a way to stay focused during class. For patterns Kit typically sticks to fandom, but they also love creating custom items, as well as gifts for friends and family. Kit is not alone in this, as her family is full of textile based crafters. We hope you enjoy our creations as much as we enjoy making them!
